Our founder - Les Crumplin-Hill ,- after spending many years working on the rough side of life keeping individuals and groups safe by his own skills decided to turn his knowledge and experience into a powerful, easy to learn, simple to use system of self defence training. As he began his work in the field of close quarter defence at the age of sixteen, spent many years as a personal bodyguard, lead the security team for major events and trained 1000's of people in self defence and close quarter combat he is one of only a few people in the UK who could have developed a complete self defence system.

Self Defence Training..? Why would someone attack you..?

The BBC recently highlighted a shocking report from the National Union of Students - 25% (that's 1 in every 4) female students at University have been subjected to an unwanted sexual experience with one in every seven women being attacked; this is almost twice the levels reported in 1988. Read the article...

In March 2010 the Telegraph reported violent attacks are around 44 per cent higher than they were in 1998. A study, by the independent House of Commons Library, shows violence against the person increased from 618,417 to 887,942 last year.

Figures last November (2009) showed that the number of violent attacks committed by strangers had hit its highest level for at least a decade, now standing at the equivalent of 2,896 people every day. Strangers are responsible for half of all violent crime and 1 in four attackers are now female.

Just popping out to the shops...

Surveys by Retail Shop-keepers trade unions have been showing an increasing trend of violent attacks since over the past decade. Now more than half of Britain's shop workers are concerned about violence and verbal threats. The Daily Mirror reported in February 2010 that attacks on shop-keepers had increased by 60% in the previous 12 months.

The rise in violent crime now means that nearly 1 in 5 shops have experienced a violent incident in the last 12 months. Shop workers are now vulnerable to a range of physical attacks ranging from stabbings to violent assaults so serious that shop workers are scared to go back on the shop floor. This is why many shop-keepers are being offered self defence training, control and restraint techniques and having CCTV fitted.

A weapon or firearm was used in over a quarter of attacks with retailers having knives held to their throats and been threatened with hypodermic needles. A fifth of attacks were serious enough to require either hospital treatment, a doctor's visit or time off work and of course there were times when shoppers also become involved of injured. Self defence training will teach you how to deal with most of these situations.

Self defence training could stop you from being injured...

Out on the town tonight..?

Twenty per cent of assaults take place in or immediately outside pubs or clubs, rising to 34 per cent for attacks by strangers, according to the British Crime Survey and a Home Office report shows 24 per cent of all violent incidents last year involved a female attacker. While critics may wish to accuse the pubs and clubs of fuelling the problems by deliberately targeting the public with discount drink offers and free entry...

...Do you know enough self defence to keep yourself or your friends safe if someone got out of hand outside a night club..?

Mugged for your iPod..!

While house burglaries are falling muggings are on the increase. As long ago as February 2004 the “This is London” website was reporting that iPod owners were being targeted by muggers prompting at least one Police Force to issue a stark warning to iPod users: ditch the white headphones or pay the price.

The Times reported the classic self defence tale of 22-year-old who lost his iPod in Birmingham: “I was walking down the road near to my home when a man who was walking the other way pointed at my headphones.” ~ The thief then asked if he was listening to an iPod and, receiving an affirmative answer, he “pulled a knife out and started waving it at me, saying: “Well hand it over, then.” I gave it to him and he ran off. He must have known I was wearing an iPod because of the white headphones.” In self defence terms this person was in “victim state”

Self defence training would ensure your awareness levels kept you and your iPod safe...

Knife attacks..!

A knife attack every 4 minutes in the UK, according to the Daily Mail in March 2010, that is more than 350 people every day 127,000 per year - but ministers still insist crime rates are falling. Knives were used in 14,000 robberies last year.
